Joseph Smith and Family Gets a House Built By Church, Forever?

Why does Jehovah in D&C 124 say that the Church should build the Nauvoo House boarding house, and that Joseph Smith and all his posterity should be able to live in it forever?

In our current Doctrine & Covenants we have this problematic section of verses. It didn't bother me when people were commanded to help Joseph Smith with housing while he was translating the Book of Mormon, but this is long past that time. The Book of Mormon was published in March 1830. This section is from January 1841.

D&C 124

 56 And now I say unto you, as pertaining to my boardinghouse which I have commanded you to build for the boarding of strangers, let it be built unto my name, and let my name be named upon it, and let my servant Joseph and his house have place therein, from generation to generation.
 57 For this anointing have I put upon his head, that his blessing shall also be put upon the head of his posterity after him.
 58 And as I said unto Abraham concerning the kindreds of the earth, even so I say unto my servant Joseph: In thee and in thy seed shall the kindred of the earth be blessed.
 59 Therefore, let my servant Joseph and his seed after him have place in that house, from generation to generation, forever and ever, saith the Lord.

King Benjamin said he labored with his own hands and did not try to get riches from the Church. Why was Joseph Smith going to get a free place to live forever? Decreed by Jehovah? And for all his posterity too?

Mosiah 2

12 I say unto you that as I have been suffered to spend my days in your service, even up to this time, and have not sought gold nor silver nor any manner of riches of you;
 14 And even I, myself, have labored with mine own hands that I might serve you, and that ye should not be laden with taxes, and that there should nothing come upon you which was grievous to be borne—and of all these things which I have spoken, ye yourselves are witnesses this day.
